What is DAY ONE?
DAY ONE is the founding night of The Foxx Den Initiative (TFDI) — a celebration bringing together entrepreneurs, businesses, supporters and organisations to mark the beginning of TFDI and help create new opportunities for people building businesses.
Do I need to own a business to attend?
Not at all. DAY ONE is for entrepreneurs, aspiring founders, established businesses, supporters, partners and anyone interested in what TFDI is building.
You don’t need a business, a pitch or a stack of business cards to belong in the room.
Can children and young people attend?
Yes. DAY ONE is family-friendly and young people are very welcome.
Anyone under 18 must attend with a responsible adult. DAY ONE is an evening business and social event rather than an event specifically designed for children.
Alcohol will only be served to guests aged 18+ in accordance with the venue’s licensing requirements.
What is included with my ticket?
Your ticket includes admission to DAY ONE, red carpet arrival, a welcome drink, a full finger buffet from The Barnstaple Hotel, live music and the complete evening experience.
What should I wear?
Dress to celebrate.
There is no formal dress code. Smart, glamorous, business, creative or simply yourself — wear whatever makes you feel ready for the occasion.

The First 20 are the first 20 entrepreneurs receiving fully funded TFDI Growth Places, provided directly by TFDI.
Each place is valued at £547, meaning TFDI is committing £10,940 of practical business support before DAY ONE even begins.
What is TFDI 500?
TFDI 500 is our campaign to fund 500 further Growth Places for people starting, rebuilding or growing businesses.
Under the published campaign model, TFDI intends to match qualifying funded places with additional places — creating the potential for 1,000 supported business opportunities.
Will there be fundraising at DAY ONE?
Yes. DAY ONE will include opportunities to support TFDI 500, including the DAY ONE Silent Auction.
There is absolutely no obligation to contribute beyond purchasing your ticket.
What is the DAY ONE Silent Auction?
The DAY ONE Silent Auction will feature products, services, experiences and a few surprises contributed by businesses and supporters.
Bidding will open before the event and continue throughout the evening before closing at 22:15 sharp.
Can dietary requirements be accommodated?
Please tell us about any dietary requirements or food allergies when booking.
We’ll provide this information to The Barnstaple Hotel ahead of the event so requirements can be discussed and accommodated where possible.
Is DAY ONE accessible?
We want DAY ONE to be welcoming and accessible.

Will photography or filming take place?
Yes. Photography and filming are planned during DAY ONE for TFDI’s website, social media, press and future promotional material.

Is TFDI a charity?
No. The Foxx Den Initiative is not a registered charity.
TFDI is a business initiative created to deliver practical business support. We believe in being transparent about how funded places work and how contributions are used.
